The open road, the wind in your hair, and the hum of the engine beneath you – there's something exhilarating about embarking on a motorcycle journey. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to ride from Delhi to Ajmer and back in just two days. What awaited me was not just a physical journey, but a profound experience of freedom and adventure. But this wasn't the original plan. I intended to to go to Uttarakhand for camping during this time but due to weather conditions, we had to cancel the ride into the mountains.

I woke up in the morning knowing that I am not going to ride today. An hour went by with me staring at my bags packed, motorcycle serviced and ready to roar. I could feel the motorcycle too felt bad about the cancellation. It was just in that moment when I decided to travel anyway, without any destination on my mind. I thought, let's see where we'll go. And I went to take a bath thinking of a destination, not too near, not too far and scrolling names of the location in my head till I realized, I am having my breakfast. That's when I 'ting' sounded when Ajmer scrolled through. I knew I am going to Ajmer.

Day 1: Delhi to Ajmer

As the first rays of the morning sun illuminated the streets of Ghaziabad, I revved up my motorcycle, a faithful companion ready to conquer the miles ahead. The initial stretch through the bustling city was a test of patience and skill, navigating through traffic and finding my rhythm. But as the urban landscape gave way to the open highway, a sense of liberation washed over me.

The tarmac stretched endlessly, and the scenery transformed from cityscapes to rural vistas. Fields of golden wheat danced in the breeze, and small villages flashed by, each offering a glimpse into the diverse tapestry of India. The scent of earth and the symphony of chirping birds accompanied me as I cruised through the day.

Reaching Ajmer was a triumph of both determination and navigation. The bustling streets, the iconic Dargah Sharif and the Pushkar temple, the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma and the rich cultural history of the city welcomed me with open arms. As the sun dipped below the horizon, I reflected on the day's ride – the feeling of freedom that comes from exploring new horizons on two wheels is unlike any other.

Day 2: Ajmer to Delhi

The return journey held the promise of revisiting the landscapes I'd grown fond of in just a day's ride. The road was familiar, yet each curve brought a new perspective. The sense of freedom was magnified as I retraced my path, feeling the connection between the places I had visited and the miles covered.

The sunsets and sunrises seemed even more breathtaking on the way back. Every stop was a chance to capture the essence of the journey in photographs – a vibrant tapestry of memories that I would carry back home. The freedom I experienced was not just physical, but a mental escape from the routine, a chance to be truly present in each passing moment.

The Essence of Freedom

Riding a motorcycle on a journey like this is more than just a means of transportation; it's a way of connecting with the world around you. The wind on your face, the changing landscapes, and the anticipation of the road ahead evoke a profound sense of liberation. In a world where schedules and responsibilities often dominate our lives, these brief escapes remind us of the simplicity and wonder of existence.

As I rolled back into Delhi, the miles covered were not just a distance traveled, but a journey of self-discovery. Riding from Delhi to Ajmer and back in two days allowed me to tap into a wellspring of freedom that exists within all of us. It's a reminder that sometimes, all we need to do is open the throttle and let the road guide us towards new adventures and endless possibilities.
